I am connected to Live C wire, system boots fine, and runs without battery ….  it seems to be running ok, but every three weeks I get a “Very low battery”warning. And replace the AAA battery.

Hi Triocruz,

Do you know for sure the C wire is working? It's purpose is only to provide power to the thermostat and technically only to complete the circuit for power to the thermostat. Have you checked to make sure the C wire is connected properly at the base of the thermostat AND at the HVAC unit?  If you have a multi-meter you can test between R or Rh and C and you should get approximately 24 V.

Also the nest works fine without the battery, it just notifies me that the batteries needs replacing. ...  Every few weeks
