AUX wire for new nest thermostat

rahult

I just got a nest thermostat and I was wondering where the AUX wire goes. The system in my house is all electric and the only empty spot in the nest is W. I currently have a Honeywell thermostat in place. Can anyone tell me where the aux wire goes? I checked the compatibility checker and it said the system in my house is compatible.

Hello rahult,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd be happy to look at this for you.

It looks like you have a Heat Pump system with Auxiliary heat. You can use the Nest Thermostat 2020 model or the Nest Thermostat E, depending on which you have. During the setup, make sure to select the Heat Pump forced air system with Auxiliary Heat on the W  terminal.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
