Does anyone know or have a way to change the Humidity setpoint via the google API?
I have my Nest 3rd Generation thermostat as part of my home automation via Zwave and Zigbee protocol. However, there is no way to manipulate or change the Humidity settings in the API. This can only be achieved through Nest App or google home.
What I’d like to achieve is be able to change the humidity setpoint automatically on the thermostat base on the outside temperature.

Hi Guzze,
Thanks for reaching out to us. Google Nest API does not provide direct access to change the humidity setpoint on a Nest thermostat, including the 3rd Generation model. The API primarily focuses on features such as controlling temperature, mode, and fan settings.
While the API doesn't currently offer a specific method to automate changes to the humidity setpoint based on external temperature, you may be able to explore alternative approaches using your home automation system. One potential workaround is to use Google Home Hub that integrates with both your Nest Thermostat and other devices that can measure the outside temperature. You can then create custom automation rules in your Google Home Hub to adjust the humidity setpoint on the Nest Thermostat based on the external temperature measurements. This approach requires establishing integration between them using the available APIs or protocols supported by your Google Home Hub. It's worth noting that this workaround may require technical expertise and additional hardware/software components.
It's also worth keeping an eye on any updates or new features introduced by Google Nest, as they may expand the capabilities of their API in the future to include more fine-grained control over settings like humidity setpoints.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe
