Hi 540,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry for the issue you're having with your Nest Thermostat. Can you tell me if you've installed the Nest Power Connector?, What type of thermostat do you have? if you don't know check this: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have, Do you have the issue with both ? What color is the status light on your Nest Thermostat?

I also suggest you check the next steps:

Keep me updated on your progress.

Sincerely,

Jonathan

Hi thanks for reaching out I’ve added the common wire and so far because it’s an older system all I could do is ground it to the boiler and run it as a common wire. I was able to get it running but it just drains ththe batteries. I do have the nest converter that’s supposed to stop the draining of batteries but when I hook it up It says no power on the tstat screens

Hi 540,

Thanks for updating me in your process. Can you tell me how many volts the thermostat is receiving? Can you send a photo of the cables to see if they are connected correctly?

Your thermostat needs to receive 24 volts to function correctly and avoid any problems. To check that information, follow these steps:

  1. Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  2. Turn the ring to Settings and press to select.
  3. Turn the ring to Technical Info and press to select.

Keep me updated in your process.

Sincerely,

Jonathan

Hi it does have 24 volt transformer. I was able to get it running but it said cannot get WiFi. I’ve add the c wire it’s only grounded to the furnace since I can’t find where to attach it anywhere else. There is no circuit board only wire for 2 zone heating

Hi 540,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear the previous information wasn't helpful.

It seems like the C wire isn't connected correctly. This is likely why it's not providing enough power. I recommend contacting a technician to inspect your system and address any issues you're having. You can find one by following this link: OnTech.

If you have more questions feel free to reply to this post.

Cheers,

Jonathan
