@GarethL

When the Nest Learning Thermostat is installed in the Google Nest app, it is then SUPPOSED to automatically appear in the Google Home app, as long as the thermostat is in the same Google Nest "home/structure" and has been assigned to a "room". However, in recent months many customers have reported this is NOT happening.

Many of those customers have reported success with this workaround:

In the Google Nest app, create a second, temporary Google Nest "home/structure".
Go to that empty temporary Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete it.
Apparently this forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.

Hi @MplsCustomer

thank you for giving me your instructions. I did have the thermostat on a different google account and room name. I did delete the thermostat and add it to the correct group name. It then appeared on the home app correctly. Interestingly it does open the NEST app to see the configuration details.

thanks for your help
