After installing power connector I’m still seeing error m25

We’ve had cold weather and got the infamous n262 error on the nest thermostat. I chatted with Google and they recommended I install the power connector which I did. I assume I have the thermostat installed correctly but I’m unsure about the power connector. The thermostat has been operating the heat just fine so I assume that is wired correctly. I wired the power connector according to the nest instructions for ac and heat configuration.

I ran the power test and after that it displayed m25 error and it does not detect the power connector. I’m attaching photos in hopes someone can help me diagnose what’s wrong. Something I read suggested that you can swap the white and yellow wires at the control board but I’m unsure if that would fix this issue.

any advice from looking at these photos?

Hi Esbowman,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest power Connector is not being detected after you install it. If you’ve installed Nest Power Connector and your power status is “Not detected,” run a power test. The status should change to “Detected” after the power test.

  1. Make sure your thermostat is set to Off mode.
  2. On your Nest Thermostat, select Settings >Equipment > Select Power Connector > Power test.
  3. Wait for the power test to finish, and then select Done.
  4. To confirm, select Settings > Equipment >  Power Connector > Power Status.
  5. The screen should now read “Nest Power Connector Detected.”

If some wires are still not detected, check the following:

  • The wires are in the right connectors.
  • The wires are fully inserted in the connectors.
  • Try to turn on the function for the wire that’s not detected. For example, if the heating wire isn’t detected, try to turn on heating, and then check if the wire is now detected.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
