Can you explain which wires you have? How many are they and which letter are they connected to?
For example, you have (Y,G,W,C, R)

Old thermostat yellow into yellow, green into green white into white, but blue wire into R. Have red wire but not hooked into anything. I did the same on nest.

The red wire might mean something to your situation now. Does your wire have labels? If until this day, nothing seems to be working, you might want to hire a technician to help you with this.

Hi folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the assistance, @Anonymous.

@Reno68, I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here. How's your thermostat? Were you able to figure out what the red wire meant? Also, have you tried contacting an HVAC technician?

To isolate:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating?
  • What type of furnace do you have? (gas, electric, etc.)
  • Did you select the correct fuel type?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Mark

I did everything they said on video.

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us and for updating us.

It is never desirable for the thermostat to indicate heating while really blowing cold air, but it appears it's about the configuration during the set-up. If you ever change your mind, we'll be here to help.

Best regards,

Mark
