Alexa not turning thermostat off

When I ask Alexa to "set the Thermostat to off" it fails. I replaced my Honeywell that managed to perform that function with this overly expensive thermostat that I thought would be able to handle such commands with ease.  Anyone know of a fix besides setting it to the opposite mode that will then turn it off?

Thanks for reaching out! I understand that this is not the ideal Nest Thermostat you're expecting for not following any response when trying to give a voice command with your Alexa speaker. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Which Nest Thermostat do you have? I did find a helpful article about how to control Google Nest products with Amazon Alexa.
