App crash connecting a new theromost E

Purchased a new Google nest E to connect to an existing heatlink that is already installed.

Already have the app, and added a new product but when linking the heatlink to the app with the 6 digit code the app just crashes. Have already uninstalled app / reinstalled, restarted all WiFi/router.

any ideas please? Thanks

Hi MelissaV10,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're experiencing troubles connecting your Nest Thermostat E with your Heat Link in the Nest app. I understand how frustrating this can be. I'm here to help.

Before I begin, I need to ask a few questions for further assistance:

  • What is the color of your Heat Link's light?
  • How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it?
  • How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it? If not, you can do so by pressing the Heat Link’s button once. When you see the two green lights underneath the button turn off, the Heat Link is out of manual mode.
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • In what order do you set up the devices? Was the Nest Thermostat E paired with the Heat Link when they were close to each other and then moved to the usage location, or was it paired with the Heat Link from its usage location?
  • Have you had any recent power cuts in your area?
  • Has there been any recent work done on your heating system?
  • Was the Nest Thermostat E moved during maintenance to a new location?
  • What is the distance between the Heat Link and Nest Thermostat E? Are the Heat Link and your Nest Thermostat E on the same floor?

Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron
