Hi, I've had the same issue - my thermostat is connected to the WiFi, all fine. It keeps showing as offline on my phone so I can't control it from the phone. If I play with the thermostat it reconnects to the app..
So far I've done a reset on the device, reinstalled the device on the app, no luck..
Mine is a Nest learning thermostat..

I’m a first time installer and when I turned my power back on to get the device into Google home it says it doesn’t recognize a device. I restarted and turned off evrything. Not t sure what to do.

@Andy17 and @Sofia_, I found a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps for when your thermostats are showing "offline" in the Nest app. Please let me know if that helps or if the issue still persists.
@dawnhankey, It appears that you're having issues adding your Nest Thermostat to the Google Home app. To avoid confusion on this thread about thermostats going offline, please create a new post so we can better assist you.
