Automatic settings won't desable

Whenever I change the temperature on my Nest Gen2 Thermostat, I get a warning that "set until 10:00 PM" or another time, and then the temperature goes to some higher or lower number automatically without any input from me. I never set any automatic temperature schedule. I also followed all the suggestions I found on this exchange list and turned off both Eco and Home Away, but nothing works: the same warning appears all the time whenever I lower or raise the temperature manually. What's going on? What am I not doing right? Can I reset the system entirely?

"Set until 10PM" is what the Nest says when you perform a temporary override to its schedule. Even if you never set up a schedule in your Nest (because you want to operate it strictly manually), there is probably a default schedule in there. When you twirl the dial or click buttons in the app, that's only a temporary command; the Nest will revert to its schedule at the time of the next set point.

First, make sure you know what model Nest you have. From your reference to "Gen2" I am guessing it's a Learning thermostat. Please verify here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9246551

Nest thermostats are designed to run on a schedule but if that's not what you want, you can delete the schedule. If you do have a Learning model, click on Schedule to edit the times and temperatures to your liking. If you don't want a schedule at all, you can perform a reset that wipes it out. Follow the instructions in this article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247296?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid#zippy=%2Crese...

Even after the reset, the problem is not solved. I tried to turn off auto-schedule using the thermostat settings, then Nest sense, then auto-schedule. I answer "no" to the question: should auto-schedule learn from your adjustments?" But it resets to yes.
