Average Nest Thermostat Battery Life?

So I have a quirk, and its more recent... I've had a NEST thermostat 3rd gen in one location possibly longer than another but the one that gets the most heating need and unfortunately daily foot traffic has recently started to drain a lot quicker where sometimes it goes offline, I've taken it off once and manually charged via a USB charger but I'm wondering if this device since it does not have. C-Wire is having some sort of extra drain or if the battery is just getting older.

I worked with support dropped the account from my nest and left it the first time after manual charging for 24 hours and it seemed to be ok... I added it back in and then was also fine for another week, but now I think I'm experiencing this issue again...  These thermostats were non-smart devices before that just had a AA battery but I've had the NEST thermostat 3rd gen in these spots for maybe 4 - 5 year but experiencing this issues suddenly... Is this an IoT issue? Device age due to no c-wire or what?  Honestly with smart things in the house some are driving me insane including smoke detectors and more...

While convenient they are also becoming a pain.. Any thoughts on how long a battery should go, or should dI just change my smart thermostat to a dumb one and use it with the turn dial?  or call for a nest professional and ask about a c-wrie even though they've never required it to date... I'm thinking with the new c-wire adapter that nest created there's been some sort of change.

just worried getting into the early stages of the winter months with this issue presenting.

Thanks in advance!

Hello iNexxFear,

I'm sorry for the delayed response and for the trouble this may have caused you. Let's see what's going on.

For systems that don't use a C wire, depending on the Wi-Fi activity on the thermostat, the battery life might last longer or shorter. To isolate, could you check your thermostat power readouts under the technical info settings? Also, are you getting any message codes or wiring reports?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Mark

I've done all of this with support via chat, my power settings are correct,.. and accurate so I'm not listing them here.. , I've had the devices in place for over 5 years. I think I isolated the issue to a baby monitor that was interrupting the 5 GHz band even though it was only a 2.4 GHz monitor. Ive returned, done the steps prior to the process with support and put it back on while also leaving far sight off.

For now I think I'm good but I think google needs to add in some other battery trending items for users so that we and support can see statistics or logs for the hardware to more easily troubleshoot.
