Battery drained, no heat in the house and it's freezing outside. Help!!

We were away for the weekend, came home and the house is freezing. Heat must have been off for a long time. Nest said battery needed to recharge (we didn't even know this was a thing). We've taken it off the wall and plugged it in with USB to charge. It's been almost an hour and every time we try to put it back on the all to get some heat, it looks like it's about to start, then turns off again. Any suggestions??

Hi jennie,

Thank you for posting here and we're sorry to hear about what happened.

First, we'll need to check if your HVAC filters and drip pans are OK. Check the HVAC switch and fuse then make sure all the wires are properly inserted to the Nest Thermostat.

Note: Be sure to turn off your HVAC switch before touching any wire.

For us to further isolate the issue, it'll be better if you include a photo of your current wiring to your reply.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Ryan
