Beyond Frustrated and throwing in the towel

After messages here and FIVE phone calls I have determined that yet another Nest Thermostat has failed. This is the second one I have replaced in five years - they last about two to three years - NOTHING like the 10 years they claim.

I am not dumb enough to buy another. At $250 they are much too expensive to keep replacing them every two years.

How is the thermostat wired? Can you post a picture of the base wiring here?

Does the thermostat say it is offline or just in the app?

Does it say offline in the Google Home and Nest apps?
