Can I install a 1st gen nest if old t-stat has a c wire?

My old thermostat has a RH and a RC with a jumper wire.

Will a Nest 1st version still work?

Hi Jay_Utah,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this. Could you share a photo of your current thermostat's wiring and HVAC's system control board? What is your HVAC's make and model? Also, you could try our compatibility checker to see if your current system is compatible with the Nest Thermostat.

Thanks,
Mel

Hello Jay_Utah,

Thanks for sharing us the photo of your thermostat wiring.

Nest Thermostats don't use jumper wires because they have them built into their displays. So your system might still be compatible, but make sure to follow the rest of its wiring configuration when installing the Nest Thermostat.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark
