When I try to add the nest in the home app it asks if I have a old nest account and I say no and then it asks me to agree to the nest terms of service which I do but then it says there’s an error and won’t add the new nest thermostat to the Home app. It says an error occurred and won’t let me go forward

I had to install the Nest app to link my Nest E after it wouldn't connect to Google Home. Once I connected via Nest, it auto-imported into Home.

Thanks for sharing this to the Google Nest Community.
Are you trying to set up a new Nest thermostat, Dd5? If yes, you can only do it through the Google Home app. If you're trying to manage and see your thermostat from the Nest app to Google Home app, you'll need to migrate your Nest account to Google first.

Thanks. Turns out you can't add a nest from a work email. I have a company with a website and email through squarespace and gmail but it won't work. Added it through a separate gmail email without trouble
