We had our Nest Temp Sensor connected to the learning thermostat and Nest app no problem and used for a couple of months. We we’re having trouble with another device and deleted our entire Nest home and started over to merge everything on one account. All other devices readded no problem, but when trying to add the sensor it just keeps saying trouble communicating with the service. We’ve tried: resetting router, restarting phones, removing and re-adding the thermostat again, removing battery for 15 mins (battery does have power), moving sensor (closer to thermostat, although it worked fine from previous location). Any suggestions??

I have the same issue. Very frustrating and too late to return. It worked fine until I did the same. Not sure if there was an app or firmware update but it has been about a month for me.

After taking the battery out for about 8 hours it ended up working and reconnecting. It seemed like it wasn’t resetting after the 5-15 mins I could find a suggestion for. But, the other days it said offline and it won’t connect again. 🤦♀️ Going to get a new battery and try that I guess.

Were you able to follow tf306's steps and leave the battery out for a few hours?
