Can't locate heat link in new property

Hi, I moved into a new property last year, and neither I, nor 2 engineers who have visited have any idea where the heat link is and so it cannot be replaced. Just wondered if Google Nest retain any information on who installs their products or if there is any way I can detect where the heat link is by some other means? I am getting slightly desperate! Thank you.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear about this situation. The Heat Link, the white square-ish box with a round button in the middle of it which says "Nest", is usually installed near the boiler because it needs to be connected to it. We don't have any way to tell where the Heat Link is positioned. Another way is to contact the previous owners, if you can, and ask them about this.

Thanks for your response. Would you be able to point me towards the installation instructions please so I could try and work out how it's connected to the boiler? Unfortunately the previous occupants can't remember where it is

Sure thing @Hibiscus, I can definitely help with that. Here if the wiring guide for the Heat Link, https://goo.gle/2pTMYLC .

Hi. Thanks again for the response.  Unbelievably the person seems to have fixed it on the wall directly behind the boiler, so you can.t see or access the front. Am I right in thinking the heat link should be visible and accessible and at least 30cm away from the boiler so there's no interference?

Correct. As you can imagine a Wi-Fi connection has a high chance of being interfered with as the boiler is not only a large metal object but will also have water going through it and it's own electronics. All these are a major source of interference. We recommend the Heat Link be at least 30 cm from any large metal objects, pipes and other electronics. You can read more about our installation recommendations guide that my colleague provided.
