Can’t reinstall sensors to link to thermostat

I moved to another home. I reinstalled thermostat, but I had to delete the sensors from the app. when I tried to reconnect my sensors, it says it’s having issues connecting to the Nest service. Now I have 3 useless sensors. I have tried uninstalling programs, rebooting phone, removing batteries from sensors but nothing works.

Hi vargas8952,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear that you are having this situation with your Nest Sensor not connecting to your app and Nest Thermostat again. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry, I can help.

Try these steps if you can’t connect your sensor to your thermostat:

  1. Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on.
  2. Move your sensor to a different location and try to connect it again. Your sensor should be within 50 feet (15 meters) of your thermostat, but it may need to be closer.
  3. The connection range can be reduced by wireless interference from walls, cabinets and bookshelves. If you still can’t connect your sensor after a few tries, check for other things that are causing wireless interference. Cordless phones, microwave ovens, and other electronics can affect the Bluetooth connection.

You can check the "Troubleshoot issues with the Nest Temperature Sensor" article for detailed information to solve this situation.

Please let me know if you have more questions. I'll be more than happy to help.

Best regards,

Jenny
