Cannot add a Device to Android Phone

I reinstalled the latest version of the Nest App.

1. When I add the Entry Key it hangs forever on the "Choose the number that matches" 

2. If I select "Start Installation" it requires a 7 digit Entry Key - mine has 6 Digits.

3. I tried this on two Android Devices.

4. I restarted the Nest Device and home Network.

5. The Nest App on my PC works fine.

Try these steps:

  1. Factory reset the thermostat so you can start afresh.
  2. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  3. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  4. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  5. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  6. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  7. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.

I am reluctant to do a factory reset because if I select "Start Installation" it requires a 7 digit Entry Key - mine has 6 Digits.

Why is there a difference in Entry Key digits?
