Hi Rae3,

Thanks for posting in the community and sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat isn't being able to connect to your WiFi. No worries, help is here! If you can see a W5 error on the screen. I'd like to ask you a few questions:

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. Can I get the Power Readouts of your thermostat
  3. Where are you located?

In advance, let's try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Perform a Factory Reset on your Nest Thermostat
  2. Connect your Nest Thermostat to a Mobile Hotspot
  3. Check for wireless interference: Try temporarily turning off any wireless devices that can cause wireless interference. Common devices include:Cordless phones, Baby monitors, Microwaves, Bluetooth devices and Wireless Video equipment.
  4.  Check your Wi-Fi router settings:
  • Enable 802.11 b/g/n if you have an 802.11 ac router.
  • Set your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time to at least two hours.
  • Turn on your router’s Power Save Mode (PSM) For complete instructions, go to recommended Wi-Fi settings.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Axel.
