I have the exact problem as the TS of this thread:

in the Google Home app, when you proceed through the installation of a new thermostat you get to the point to 'Chose the last 4 characters of your device's serial number'. Screen does not give you the option to select any serial number.
Do not give me generic help articles. I have tried all suggestions and it does not work. The problem lies 100% in the software so I want that the suggestions focus on that.
Who can help me? I can't have my heater off for too long or it becomes autumn.
