When searching for a solution to a problem, I found a good thread. Wanted to reply with some additional information, but found that all reply buttons are locked (although kudos are not). There is message at the bottom of each thread saying I cannot reply until I verify my email. It claims I can force a verification email from my profile, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious method to do that. Nest community is definitely sending emails about other things, so something is broken. Lots of threads mentioning this, but no threads showing a solution, they just get closed because no one ever answers the problem. I assume this one will also be ignored.

In the upper right corner of the screen, when you're not logged onto this forum, there should be a small icon looking like the silhouette of a person. You should be able to click that to log onto the forum and then reply to posts that have not been locked. At least, that's how it works for me.

It seems to work here. I wanted to reply to this topic because it is missing some information: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Trouble-adding-second-thermostat-TD013-4096/...
However, what I see in the reply box is this message:

That's usually the message you get when you try to post a Reply but are not logged into this community forum (in which case there's a blue profile in the upper right corner of the screen).
The other thread you referenced has been locked by Google Nest.
