Hi everyone, will a nest thermostat be compatible with only W, Rh and Rc wires? Jumper between Rh and Rc. Appreciate any help!

Hello @jonnyi,

Thanks for reaching out. Please use the following compatibility checker to check if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats: Compatibility Checker

Hope that helps!  🙂

The system you have is heat only so you would connect Red to Rh and White to W (ignore the jumper to Rc it is not needed on any modern smart thermostats).

The problem is you need a C wire for common if you have the Nest non learning.

The Learning model sometimes is ok without a C wire.

You can either run a new 8 conductor cable to the furnace, or use a Nest power adapter device but I suggest running the new cable if possible.
