Hello, Can anyone help with this? Old thermostat fried yesterday and I was able to get the basic Nest thermostat before HD closed but now I am stuck. Merry Xmas!
Edit: This is a Honeywell thermostat I am am replacing. TH8320U1008

just tape off the S wires not needed but don't let them touch each other (or disconnect at the air handler end also).
Once it is running set up your heat pump balance settings to make it run more efficiently.

Following... I was updating the thermostat in my new home. I have the same exact issue
Honeywell replacement> Compatible Link Yes> App says No

If you have S1 S2 wires ignore them tape them up with electrical tape they are for a outside sensor that Nest does not need.
Post a pic of your old tstat wires so we can be sure you have it correct.

I replied but it is not here. App says it cannot connect and on the thermostat I get the warning below. I turned off all other Bluetooth and reset the thermostat twice. Also got a weak battery warning. Thank you so much for helping!

Did you tell the Nest during setup this is a Heat Pump system with forced air, and white wire on W is Aux Heat.?
Do a factory reset if it will not let you change the settings.

@imoksoami, I'm checking back in. Were you able to reset and reconfigure your thermostat? I'd be glad to hear from you; we'd like to make sure everything is working.
@Carissa217, I'd also like to know more about this. Could you also try the steps shared by Houptee? Please ensure that you've selected all the appropriate wires connected to your Nest Thermostat, and let us know if you need more help.
