We have two systems and purchased two nest thermostats model G4CVZ cheaper version and it only has 6 connection points and doesnt seem compatible to our systems. Will the 3rd Generation work that has more connection points?

Hey Ldtrebe,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed response.
Both of your systems should work with all our thermostat including the new one with the mirrored display. You just won't be adding those jumper wires as they won't be needed by our thermostats.

When I tried to install and told it what wires I had it said it was not compatible. I noticed the newer models have more connections.

Hey Ldtrebe,
Thanks for the reply.
If your system is a single stage heat pump with separate two stage furnace heating (Dual fuel), it is not compatible with the G4CVZ model Nest Thermostat.
You could get back to the retailer and exchange for the Nest Learning Thermostat which can accommodate the kind of HVAC system that you have.
Check out this online compatibility checker for us to further help you.
Best regards,
Ryan
