Connecting Nest 3rd Gen with Aprilaire 1842 Dehumidifier

I am having difficulty connecting my Nest 3rd gen. learning t-stat with an Aprilaire 1842 Dehumidifier. Does anyone have recommendations for how to turn off the internal humidistat on the Aprilaire and connecting w/Nest?
