Connecting nest thermostat with my app

I purchased a home with an existing Google nest thermostat. I did a factory reset and it is connected to my new Wi-Fi and working fine. I’ve been trying to connect it to my app to control from the app the temperature in my home

I have tried to connect it, using the QR code, which, after being recognized, allows the app to search to connect, and it finds nothing. The same thing happens when I use the key as well. Why am on I am not able to connect the app to my thermostat?

Are you using the correct app for setup?

  • If it is a Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E, you need to use the Nest app.
  • If it's a Nest Thermostat (2020 model), you need to use the Google Home app.
