Contacting NEST: Unit dead after less than 9 months

Had the Nest Learning Thermostat (2nd gen) professionally installed 9 months ago.  It worked for a short time and then started to have problems.  Now it's not connecting to the heater or air conditioner.

If your thermostat was installed 9 months ago, then it is not a 2nd Gen.

How to tell which Nest thermostat you have 

Can you post a picture of the wired base?
