I created a new temp setting and programed our new thermostat. However the system isn't recognizing it and not heating the house up till the comfort setting it hits later. Any suggestions?

Well programming in a temp setting per the instructions into the schedule didn't work. And to make matters worse it doesn't even hold the temperature at the night time setting. The house is 64 this morning with snow on the ground.
Returning this crappy product back to Home Depot and putting my old programmable thermostat back up that I know works.

One option is to edit the Comfort setting -- change the set points' times or temperatures, or add more set points.

I tried this and it changes the comfort setting for all. We are wanting to program the thermostat to heat up the house to a certain temp, then chamge to a lower temp. So add in a program to heat up the house to 71 (after being in sleep mode), then switch to comfort 2 hours later at 70. Why won't the system recognize the heating I created?

When you look at your schedule in the Google Home app, does it show each of the times and temperatures that you want, including the new 71, or is the new 71 missing? If the 71 time/temperature is missing, there are instructions in the article I linked earlier for making 71 available as a preset (under "Temperature presets") and for then using that new 71 preset to create an early-morning set point between the Sleep and Comfort set points already in the schedule (under "Change the temperature schedule" --> "Add a new temperature").
At what point in all of those steps is the Nest failing to do what you want?

I've followed all those steps, have even factory reset the thermostat. Gone through settings>Temperature Preferences>Temperature Presets. Created a preset and named it. Set the time for it to start (made sure it wasn't within two hours of another).
But when I woke up the house was still at 66 (should have started heating up an hour before I woke).
Changed it for today and let the pre-programmed comfort setting start at that time and it ran correctly.
So why didn't the nest system run off the setting I had created. Google support was no help, so I turned to the boards.

Ugh, what an ordeal! I am hoping that somebody more expert than I will jump in with pertinent advice. Failing that, I'll continue with trouble-shooting suggestions but I apologize if they're no more useful than before.
When you woke up and it was 66 (supposed to be 71), what did the Nest show that it thought it was doing? Did it indicate that it was calling for heat at 71 as you wanted, or did it show that it was still aiming at your Sleep temperature?
When you looked at the schedule in the Google Home app, did the schedule show each set point that you had put in there (or tried to), or was it showing only Sleep, then Comfort -- missing the early-morning 71?

No, due to the thermostats inability to run accordingly and the lack of knowledge base when I contacted customer support it has been returned tonthe store.
