Purchased a Nest Thermostat earlier this year, 2022. Product malfunctioned this summer, in the LA heat wave and then in September. Yeah - bad timing for sure. Purchased at Lowe’s - they only have a 30 day return policy referred me to Google. Google tells me to bad Google want take it back. Bought a new one via Amazon as you know, you AC won’t work if you don’t have a thermostat control…
Upon learning today - that I have no option for a return or a refund I asked about sending it back for recycling and learned that Google does not offer recycling…. Odd for a industry leader not to have an end to end approach. Am I wrong thinking if you won’t service what you sell you should in a leadership role support recycling?

Google Nest Community Specialists:
Can you provide this customer with a "form" that will let them return their broken Nest Thermostat for a refund under the one year warranty?

If people would purchase their nest learning thermostat from and Nest Pro, and the Nest Pro installs it, you get a two year product warranty. Just saying …..
