I can’t find a discount code either. I engaged with support and no luck.
I’m very hesitant to buy another Google product as a replacement. I guess I will have to start educating myself on what’s in the market.

I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but I didn’t see the solution that Derrick presented in his comment. I filled out the form, but no response from the team yet. Am I too impatient?
BTW, one of my 3 Gen 2 Nest thermostats ceased working…

I did the same thing and even went a step further on since I did get a support ticket so I engaged with them via chat on Aug-27 and the only thing they provided was another support ticket stating the following:
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Customer Care Team.
This is regarding your case. Here is the case id , I am going to escalate your case with senior department team for the promo code for discount on your NLT 4th Gen thermostat. This can take the next 24- 48 hours.
A promo code should not be that complicated when they have verified my information 2x now. I will post here if I receive it today.

Maybe I misunderstood your advice, should I engage Google Customer Service via chat, too? and it seems that you still haven't heard anything about your promo code? I am very close to exhausting my patience -- and to dropping this insensate waiting for Godot, buy Honeywell thermostats, and join the class action against Google Nest.

The power of persistence: as a test, I ordered a Nest replacement, and I found the option for the discount. So I am all set for now. Residual criticism: Google did a poor job of explaining how one gets a discount...
