I use the Google Home app to check the battery.  Open the Google home app, choose the thermostat, choose the setting gear, go to device information, at the bottom will be the current battery voltage.

With the Google Nest app, you need to open the app, tap the setting gear in the upper right, scroll down to Technical Information, tap it and the next screen show your battery level and the bottom.

I hope this helps,

Thank you CoolingWizard--I can now find and monitor battery level.

Can you tell me what hour of the day Nest thinks starts and end "evening"?  I'd like to switch to a second thermostat for the evening in the living room that runs cold. Or the alternative is to just up the set point while we are in that room.

Thank you

The nice thing about the Nest app and the Google Home app is that whenever you are ready to change the temperature you can simply go into the app and change the temperature no matter where you’re at. Now there’s one other additional thing if you want to be a little more automatic; you can get a Google nest remote temperature sensor and then you can set a schedule as to when  that remote sensor takes control of the system.
