Its not clear to me how to wire this system with a Nest thermostat. When I use the ap to install it asks questions that do not align with the system I have.
Do I need a HVAC expert to install and before I do, can I even use the nest?

@Cyklein , Do you have a heat pump system with an air handler or a conventional air conditioning system with a furnace?

Conventional air conditioner with a furnace

@Cyklein , you have a 2-sage Air Conditioner and. 2-stage gas furnace. Here is your wiring setup:
Brown Wire to Nest C terminal; 24Vac Power Common
Red Wire to Nest Rc Terminal; 24Vac Power
Yellow Wire to Nest Y1; Stage 1 Cooling
Blue Wire to Nest Y2; Stage 2 Cooling
Green Wire to Nest G; Fan Relay
White Wire to Nest W1; Stage 1 Heat
Black Wire to Nest W2; Stage 2 Heat
The only wire in question is the orange wire that is currently on U1. You will notice that there are two terminals labeled U1, and normally, when you program the use of those terminals, you have to have power in on one of the U1 and then when the thermostat sends power out, it sends it out on the second U1 by internally connecting U1 to U1. Sometimes these are used to control a humidifier or a dehumidifier attached to the air supply duct.

Thanks! so U1 to the Nest * terminal then?

@Cyklein , you need to open the Furnace power panel and verify where the Orange wire is going. We need to determine what is controlling before we attach it.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I just want to check if you were able to try checking your HVAC control board to see where the orange wire connected?
I appreciate your help, @CoolingWizard.
Best,
Jenelyn
