Hi i have this nest 2nd gen thermostat, in installation when putting on the wall it doesn't say anything about having micro usb to power just has t1 & t2 wires from nest transmitter box by the boiler through the wall and connect to. Nest thermostat back plate.
Is this correct or do I need to run a micro usb cable from a plug somewhere also to power the thermostat which will be. Difficult
On the transmitter t1 and t2 cover also says 12v

Nest thermostat’s internal battery is usually charged by your system sending power over the wires connected to it. If there’s a problem and your thermostat can’t get enough power, that's when you can use the USB port to quickly charge it but that's only really a temporary solution. If that keeps happening, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible.
