The E298 error means your thermostat has a power problem. Here's how you can troubleshoot:

Troubleshoot a "No power" alert on the Nest Thermostat (E298 or M20 help code) - Google Nest Help

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. Could you please go to your breaker box and check if the breakers flipped? Circuit breakers could flip due to:

  • Brownouts
  • Blackouts
  • Service done on your thermostat and/or electrical appliances

Also, please provide your Nest Thermostat power info. You can check it to your thermostat Settings and Equipment.

I appreciate your help, @David_K.

Best,

Jenelyn
