Eco is randomly turning off and turning the heat to 72

We leave our home for vacation and set eco on. Noticed yesterday it is turning the heat to 72 (we never ever set it that high when eco is off. The schedule is set to 68) I turned off all learning and automation and set to back to eco. This morning eco is off again and the heat is at 72. We have never had issues with this before.

Hi Ljwowww,

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat is randomly turning off Eco. Have a try at these steps:

  1. Ensure that the schedule settings and desired temperature settings are correct for both normal and Eco modes. Make any necessary adjustments to align with your preferences.
  2. Double-check Eco mode settings and any additional settings. Ensure that the desired temperature for Eco mode is set to your preference. Additionally, confirm that any additional settings, such as temperature ranges or time periods, are properly configured.
  3. Restart the thermostat by removing it from the base, waiting a few seconds, and then reattaching it.
  4. Ensure the thermostat is running on the latest software version, which may include bug fixes and improvements. You can check for updates through the Nest app or the thermostat's Settings > Software.
  5. If these steps don't resolve the issue, perform a factory reset to clear all settings and configurations, allowing you to set it up again from scratch. Remember to reconfigure the thermostat and set up desired schedules or preferences.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
