Since installing my Nest I have noticed our power bill has increased. At first, our AC was running constantly and found a post saying to turn off the WiFi since there’s a manufacturer defect causing the WiFi chip to overheat making your thermostat think it’s hotter than it actually is. Since doing that our power bill has gone down like maybe $10 or $20. My AC is still running constantly and when it does I notice my outside unit is a lot louder than it was before installing the nest. Can anyone help me figure out with my nest is causing my AC to run constantly?

First of all, your thermostat cannot make your electrical bill to suddenly increase. Answer this, is your ambient room temperature being maintained at the desires set point? Also, the thermostat cannot make your outdoor unit suddenly run louder. The thermostat is simply using the temperature set point you define as the decision point. Is the ambient temperature is 1°F above the set point, if so, it connects the R to the Y to start the cooling. When the ambient temperature is reached, it disconnects R from Y. So basically, all it does is cause the heating or cooling system to start.
