Excited to get rid of Nest

Finally have convinced my husband to get rid of this nightmare thermostat after we set it to 74 when we left the house only to come home to 69. This thing just constantly decides what temperature IT WANTS - who designed a thermostat where the people can’t set the temperature??? I have a baby and I’m constantly trying to change the temp so he’s not too cold or hot. Even when I set it to the sensor in his room, a few minutes later it’s blasting the air because IT DECIDED that it wants to follow the downstairs temperature instead. No idea how this “smart” thermostat is saving us money when it randomly decides to swing up and down 10 degrees all day and night.

@Rosehatesnest , I am so sorry you having such a problem. Since you decided to discard your nest thermostat, would you be willing to send it to me?  I would be more than happy to give your Nest Thermostat and new home.

This POS has been problematic at best. I'm going to see if I can get a refund.

@STEVE_SZY , again I am sorry that you are having problems.  Again, since you do not feel it has value, just send it to me.  I will be happy to rehome your Nest Thermostat.

I assume you are just being cheeky. I have seen you request free thermostats, and not really help anyone out.

@STEVE_SZY , just look at my stats. I help people with problems all of the time.  I teach them how to properly use their Nest thermostat.  You on the other hand,  said you no longer wanted yours. I simply offered to take it off your hands.  I have several Nest Learning Thermostats on my service trucks. Now, if you want start over in your own message thread, and state the problem you are having, I will see if I can help and if you can understand and be helped.

You might be on to something as getting rid of it being the best solution. Mine is doing the exact same thing. Set it to 72 degrees cool, it changes eventide to 76 degrees. If I don't get a solution from this forum by weeks end, I'll start planning to get rid of it too. Do better Nest/Google.

Yes get rid of it!! Buy a 25$ on amazon that just works. Plain and simple. With the nest it took 3hrs to cool my house plus fighting the "eco mode". I am convinced nest is sketchy because now my house takes 1hr to cool down

Debating between the Amazon one and the Sensi…
