Extra Wiring

Hello,

I am replacing my old thermostat unit with a nest. My old unit has 8 wires and I want to make sure to know what to do with the extra wires so I don’t damage the thermostat as well as not be a fire hazard. What do I need to do with extra wires I won’t be needing?

Thanks for reaching out to us. Could you send us a wiring photo of your old thermostat wiring configuration and a photo of your HVAC control board where the other end of your thermostat wires are connected?
