We just installed the latest nest thermostat and working terrific. The challenge is inviting my wife to view and control the thermostat from her phone.
why have you made this complicated by adding Google home? This is. Shins frustrating.
I went through all the steps I added her- she accepted- she’s in the right household and still can’t view the nest.
We did see she had the wrong household in google home and deleted the wrong one and thought that would solve the issue and it didn’t.
When she clicks on the plus sign in the Nest app - e go through the motions to add the device - it asks for the code and we go to the Nest thermostat on the wall and it says it’s already connected to a user - what?
There’s got to be a better solution! All we want is for her to have access to the thermostat in the app.
Please help end our frustration. Or we may never buy a google product again - sheesh. All your marketing talks about how easy it is to set up - bollocks. It doesn’t have to be this complicated- your developers need to simplify this process. Or at least address it somewhere.

Hey ShannonMcc,
Sorry for the delay and to hear about your experience adding your wife as a member of your household. I want to dig deeper into this.
A few questions — what specific Nest thermostat is this? Are you able to see and control it via your own phone's Nest app? Also, on your wife's Nest app, did she sign in by choosing the "Sign in with Google" option?
Best,
Melba
