Hi, @Sonywon,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm truly sorry you are receiving the E195 power error code on your thermostat. I’m happy to help you and find a solution.

During the hot summer months, if your HVAC system breaks down, it may stop sending power to your Google Nest thermostat. If this happens, your thermostat displays an E195 power error. If this problem persists, your thermostat’s battery will drain, and it might disconnect from the internet or shut down. To better assist you, I’d like to know:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?
  • Are the power breakers on, and do you receive power to your home?
  • Do you have a conventional or a heat pump system?
  • When did your system last receive a professional maintenance check?
  • Would you mind sharing a picture of your wiring configuration?
  • When did this inconvenience start?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker and remove your thermostat display. Your HVAC system might have multiple breakers, so make sure to turn them all off before moving on.

  1. Remove one wire and inspect it.
  2. Make sure it's straight with at least 1 cm of copper exposed.
  3. Make sure the wire is clean and isn't corroded or has paint on it.
  4. Insert the wire fully back into the connector of the Nest and make sure the connector button stays pressed down.
  5. Repeat with all of your wires.
  6. Turn the power back on and test your cooling system.

If the AC is not working yet, follow these steps:

Turn off the power to your HVAC system.

  • Check if your system’s drip pan or drain tube is full of water or has a clog.
  • Ensure the air filter is clean. Replace it if necessary.
  • Verify that the system's fuses are intact.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
