Gen 3 Learning Thermostat acting up

sgtrhoads

We have had our 3rd Gen Learning thermostat for a little over a year. Recently we have issues with it showing "not connected" on the app. When I go to the unit, the screen is black and will not come on. I have to remove the unit from the baseplate and reinstall for it to come on. This has been going on for about a week.

Starting last night, the unit will loose connection with the two additional temp sensors we have. They went in and out a couple times through the night.

I have tried restarting and a full reset of the Nest. I have also made sure our mesh wifi network is up to date.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue or if there is a resolution other than purchasing a new one.

Hi sgtrhoads,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let me take a look at this for you.

To confirm that it's Wi-Fi-caused and not battery-caused, disconnect the thermostat from the Wi-Fi network for 24 hours. Question: Was there are any message or code on your Nest Learning Thermostat display or recently had any power outages or service work? Also, please gather for me your thermostat's power readings by going to its Settings > Technical Info > Power, then list down the readings for its Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
