I get an E298 code. Check the wiring and all tabs seem to be in proper place with tabs down.
Replaced batteries but still get the code.
Any ideas on what is the problem?

Hi compton31,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Nest Thermostat. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry, I can help.
Please check the wiring on your Nest Thermostat:
This means that the wire is not sending voltage to your thermostat. Some wires, like a C or R wire, need to send voltage to keep your thermostat powered on.
Please check the "Troubleshoot a "No power" alert on the Nest Thermostat (E298 or M20 help code)" article for detailed information.
Let me know if you have more questions. I'll be more than happy to help.
Regards,
Jenny

Hi Jenny,
I was able to get the issue fixed. Turns out the AC was shutting itself off due to a fail-safe feature related to a clogged drain line. The Nest code was a result of that and not anything actually related to the Nest itself. Thanks for your assistance,
Compton31
