How to Disable Eco Mode on Thermostat-1.4

Lawgle678
Community Member

I have a Nest Thermostat Model 1.4.

I have been having reoccurring issues where my thermostat enters Eco mode when I am home and/or when I am asleep. I have tried looking in every setting menu in the Google Home and Nest Apps to see where Eco Mode is in order to disable it, but have been unsuccessful.

I have location settings turned off, so it should not be mistakenly thinking I am not home, and none of my house mates have location settings turned on either.

Any assistance in permanently disabling this ineffective and uncomfortable mode would be appreciated.

1.4 is the Nest Learning Thermostat (1st generation), correct me if that’s not right. Try these steps:
1. Open the Google Nest app.
2. Select your thermostat.
3. Select the Mode option in the lower left and set the mode to Heat/Cool.
4. Select the Eco option in the lower center and end Eco Temperatures on all thermostats.
If you also want to stop it adjusting based on home/away assist and the auto-schedule features, select the Gear icon in the upper right and turn off the Home/Away Assist and Auto-Schedule options.

I do not use the Nest App. When I had tried setting up my thermostat to the nest app it did not work, so I set it up using Google Home. Unfortunately the directions you gave do not appear applicable to the Google Home app

In Google Home I have disabled Away Automation and yet it still continues to switch to Eco, despite me removing it from any and all schedules and automation.
