Try this wiring

Blue - B to OB

Orange - GL to G

Green - Gh to Y2 (set2nd-speed fan)

Yellow - Y to Y1

White - W to W2/AUX (set as AUX heat)

Black - C to C

Red - R to Rc

You'll probably need to do this too.

If your system starts to blow cool air when your Nest thermostat is in Heat mode (or if it blows warm air when its in Cool mode), change the settings for orientation of your heat pump.

  1.  On your thermostat, go to Settings.
  2. Select Equipment.
  3. Select Continue > Continue.
  4. Select Heat Pump.
  5. The Nest Thermostat defaults to an O setting for heat
    pumps.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. Test your heating and cooling again to make sure the issue is resolved.

When I put the R in Rc it doesn’t connect and keeps saying there’s no power source

it connects when I put it to Rh though

everything else I put in as you recommended

On testing:

It cools and runs the fan ok

and the auxiliary heat work ok as well

however nothing happens on the heat pump test or the heating stage 2 test

Hi Amisin,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the heat pump test and heating stage 2 test. I'd love to know more about this. Could you try skipping the tests and check if the heating would work if you call for heating?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
