Google Home shows Nest thermostat as offline

When looking at device(s) it is online and operating properly, but Google Home shows both devices as offline.   The beauty was supposed to be that I could manage my thermostat from my phone, but if it is always ‘offline’ in the app, that isn’t possible.

I have restarted the app and my phone.
The Google Home app is up to date.
I have restarted my two thermostats.
I have verified my email address.
My Wi-Fi is up and working properly and talking to the devices.

but still they show offline in the app.

please help

Hi Ranunculas,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the late response. I appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. Please try to remove your Nest Thermostat to the Google Home app, then reset your thermostat before adding it to the app. If you have a scheduled temperature set, copy it first before you proceed factory resetting your device.

Reset your thermostat:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Slide your finger down and select Factory Reset.
  3. After the factory reset, continue the setup process.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn
