Google Nest Learning Thermostat

I am trying to add the nest on my second mobile device and it is asking for a security pin. I went to the Nest App on the nest to check the security pin, as instructed on the various forums, but it shows “this nest is already connected to a device” message and does not provide any security key.

how can I get the security key alternatively ? Is there something wrong with the nest ?

You don't need the entry key to view and manage your thermostat on a second mobile phone. Simply login to the Nest app with the same account you used to setup the thermostat, and you'll see your thermostat.

Hey David,

thanks for the reply. However the second phone belongs to my wife and i am unable to setup the nest in her mobile without the key.

@Shri89

You will need to invite your wife to join your account.

On the Nest iOS, you would click on the gear in the top right of the home screen, select the Family option, and then select Add a Home Member.

To add to what Patrick_Caezza mentioned, if you login to the Nest app with a Google account (you use the sign in with Google button), you actually need to use the Google Home app to manage home members.

Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

The email address you invite must be a personal Gmail account, or if the person you’re inviting to the home uses another email provider, they must create a Google account using that email address. Once they receive and accept the invite, your device(s) will show up in their Nest or Google Home apps, as appropriate.
