Google Nest N80 error, but HeatLink gives a green light

Hello,

Our Nest gave the n80 error, where it couldnt connect to the HeatLink, but the HeatLink is giving a green light as if everything is fine. I tried resetting the heatlink and also reset the Nest, but it did not help. Any suggestions on a solution?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Job127,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. It looks like your Nest Thermostat display has lost its wireless connection to the Heat Link. Please check if your thermostat display receives power. On the display, scroll down to the message until you reach Technical info and then Power. If the display is receiving power through a micro-USB and a power outlet, make sure that the Vusb is about 5 V. Verify that the battery level is at least 3.8 V.

The loss of connection is often caused by 2 factors:

  • Distance between components
  • Signal interference

Please check for possible sources of signal interference:

  1. Check for sources of interference such as:
  • Boiler
  • Hot water cylinder
  • Pipes
  • Thick walls
  • Doors
  • Mirrors
  • Fish tanks
  • Sculptures
  • Cordless phones
  • Baby monitors
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Other networks (e.g. competing Wi-Fi signals from neighbours)
  • Microwave ovens
  • Coaxial cable (satellite cable)

      2. Make sure the boiler is not between the Heat Link and thermostat.

      3. Troubleshoot wireless interference and note any adjustments made.

Best,

Jenelyn
