1 (888) 525-3050. Is this a valid tel no for Google Nest Customer Support. I think I got scammed. This is the number I found online. But, when I reached a person who identified himself as a “Google nest technician”, I explained that my nest learning thermostat could not connect. Without asking any questions, he said this was a software, malware issue and that a technician would have to work on it and it would cost $89. He took my credit card number, address, phone number, etc. I got a return call 10 minutes later from a 866 number. Both persons had eastern European accents, at which point I got suspicious and froze my credit card. Any thoughts?

To the best of my knowledge, Google Nest does not publish a Support phone number. The only way to reach Support is to start with the "Contact us" link below. On the "Resources" page, just click on "Next step" without selecting any of the Help topics, to get to the page with contact options (phone or chat).

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Google Nest no longer has a direct phone number to avoid customer fees. You can visit the link provided above to follow the prompt there and get support over the phone. Please let us know if you still have questions or concerns, as we'll be willing to assist you further.
I appreciate the help, @MplsCustomer.

Does Google actually do anything about the false and misleading “Google nest tech support numbers“ that are posted on the Internet? They should try to do something so that people, like me, do not get misled into calling up a number where they deceive you into thinking it is Google tech support, and taking money from you to refer you to a third-party vendor.
